WEIGHT LOSS INJECTION PRICE IN DELHI

What it really costs, month by month. And what the quote should include.

Cost is the question patients research most and get the vaguest answers to. This sets out exactly what drives the price of injectable weight loss treatment in Delhi NCR, what a programme should include, and how to compare quotes without being misled.

In short

Weight loss injections are priced by strength, so your monthly cost rises as the dose escalates over the first several months. Budget for the dose you will likely need rather than the starting dose, and check what the quote includes beyond the medicine itself.

Why nobody can quote you a single figure

Every patient wants one number, and every honest clinic will decline to give it before assessing you. That is not evasion; it reflects how these medicines are priced.

Tirzepatide and semaglutide are supplied in several strengths, each priced differently. Treatment always begins at the lowest weekly dose and steps up gradually over months, so your first month costs considerably less than a later month at a higher strength.

Two patients on the same medicine can therefore pay very different amounts. One who responds well at a middle dose may pay substantially less than one who needs the maximum.

Any clinic quoting a flat monthly figure before assessment is either quoting the starting dose only, or guessing.

The three phases of cost

It helps to think in phases rather than a single number. Phase one is the first month or two at the starting dose. This is the cheapest you will pay, and it is not representative.

Phase two is escalation, typically months three to five, when the cost steps up at each dose increase. This is where patients who budgeted only for month one get caught out, and it is a common point of abandonment.

Phase three is your settled dose, usually from around month six onwards. Whatever strength works for you becomes your ongoing monthly figure for as long as treatment continues.

Ask your doctor to sketch all three at consultation: likely starting cost, likely settled cost, and roughly when the transition happens. That is a far more useful picture than one number.

What the medicine itself costs

The medicine is the largest single component. Pricing follows strength across all the available products, so the same principle applies whichever molecule you are prescribed.

Tirzepatide at higher doses is generally the most expensive option available. Semaglutide sits below it. Liraglutide is often cheaper per month but requires daily rather than weekly injection and produces smaller average results.

Availability in India has fluctuated with global supply, and this affects price. Your clinic should tell you what is currently accessible rather than promising a product it cannot reliably obtain.

Prices change. What does not change is the relationship between dose and cost, which is what you should plan around.

What a programme should include beyond the medicine

Doctor consultations and scheduled reviews throughout the titration period and beyond. Baseline blood work, and follow-up blood work at least once during treatment.

Injection training, delivered in person with a chance to practise. A personalised diet plan with dietitian access, not a printed sheet. Side-effect management, including the ability to reach someone between appointments.

Guidance on safe discontinuation, planned rather than improvised when you decide to stop.

If a quote covers only the pen, you are buying a prescription rather than a programme, and the outcome data on prescriptions without support is considerably worse.

Hidden costs people forget to budget for

Baseline blood work is a real cost and should be quoted separately if it is not included. Follow-up bloods are typically repeated at least once, sometimes more if markers were abnormal at baseline.

Review consultations may be charged individually at some clinics. Over a year of scheduled reviews that adds up meaningfully, so ask specifically whether they are included or billed each time.

Sharps containers and needle supplies where not included with the pen. Dietitian sessions, which are sometimes separate. Travel to appointments, which for patients coming from Gurgaon or Noida is a real time and money cost.

If treatment is stopped and later restarted, you may repeat part of the escalation phase, which carries its own cost.

How to compare quotes honestly

Ask every clinic the same three questions. What is the total monthly cost at the dose you expect I will need? What is included in that figure? What is charged separately?

A clinic quoting a low headline price with consultations, blood work and dietitian support billed on top is frequently more expensive overall than one quoting a single inclusive figure.

Ask for it in writing before you commit. A clinic unwilling to set it out plainly is telling you something useful about how it operates.

Price should be the last thing you compare, not the first. Assessment quality, supervision structure and what happens if something goes wrong all matter more.

Budgeting for the full course

Obesity is a chronic condition, and treatment frequently continues for twelve months or longer. The useful calculation is therefore annual cost rather than the first month's outlay.

Plan for escalation over the first three to four months, a steadier period at your effective dose, and then a decision point about continuing, tapering or moving to another approach.

Some patients taper to a lower maintenance dose, which reduces cost over time. Your doctor should raise this at the outset rather than leaving you to discover it.

Committing to a treatment you cannot sustain for the duration it requires is a common and avoidable mistake.

Why treatment is not the same as a prescription

It is tempting to compare only the medicine price and treat everything else as optional. The outcome data does not support that view.

The trials producing the headline weight reduction figures delivered structured lifestyle support alongside the medicine. Patients receiving a prescription alone consistently do worse.

The most common reason patients abandon treatment is unmanaged side effects, which is a supervision failure rather than a medicine failure. A dose hold or dietary adjustment resolves most of it.

The second most common is weight regain after stopping without a plan. Both are addressed by the parts of a programme that a bare prescription omits.

Compounded versions and false economy

Compounded or unbranded tirzepatide and semaglutide circulate at lower prices, sometimes considerably lower. They are not quality-assured, the actual dose cannot be verified, and sterility is uncertain.

Regulators in several countries have issued warnings following dosing errors and adverse events linked to compounded products. There is no reliable adverse event reporting for them.

We neither prescribe nor endorse them under any circumstances. If cost is the genuine barrier, the appropriate conversation is whether a different treatment route suits you better.

Skipping dietitian support to save money is a subtler false economy. It usually costs more later, because weight returns when treatment stops without changed habits.

How injections compare with the gastric balloon

The Allurion balloon is a one-off cost for a defined sixteen-week programme. It is swallowed as a capsule, requires no surgery, endoscopy or anaesthesia, and passes naturally.

For patients weighing a recurring monthly cost against a single defined outlay, this changes the arithmetic meaningfully, particularly for those who want a time-limited intervention.

It suits patients at a BMI where surgery is not yet indicated but dietitian-led management alone has not worked.

As with any route, the result holds only if nutrition and habits change during the window it provides.

How injections compare with bariatric surgery

Bariatric surgery is a larger one-off cost with modest ongoing expense for supplements and follow-up. Injections are a recurring monthly cost continuing for as long as treatment does.

Over two or three years the arithmetic frequently shifts in favour of surgery for patients at higher BMI. Surgery also produces the largest and most durable weight reduction of any available treatment.

It carries surgical risk, requires lifelong vitamin monitoring, and is not reversible. It is not the right answer for everyone, and at lower BMI it is not indicated at all.

A clinic offering all routes can run that comparison honestly. A clinic offering only injections cannot.

Insurance and reimbursement in India

Coverage for obesity treatment in India remains limited and varies considerably between insurers and policies. Injectable weight management is generally not covered.

Bariatric surgery is covered under some policies where specific clinical criteria are met, typically involving BMI thresholds and documented comorbidities. This is worth investigating properly if surgery is on the table.

Where type 2 diabetes is the primary diagnosis rather than obesity, the position can differ for medicines prescribed within diabetes care.

Check your policy wording directly, and ask your clinic what documentation they can provide to support a claim.

Cost across Delhi NCR

Patients frequently ask whether prices differ between Delhi, Gurgaon, Noida and Faridabad. The medicine costs the same; what varies is consultation fees and how services are bundled.

Premium clinics in Gurgaon and South Delhi frequently carry higher consultation and review fees. That does not automatically mean better clinical care, and it does not automatically mean worse.

What you should compare is the inclusive annual figure and the quality of supervision, not the postcode.

Factor in travel time realistically. A cheaper clinic requiring a two-hour round trip for each review has a cost that does not appear on the invoice.

Reducing cost without cutting corners

Reaching an effective dose rather than the maximum dose is the single largest saving available, and it is a clinical outcome rather than a compromise. Many patients do well at a middle strength.

Attending reviews and reporting honestly leads to better-tailored dose decisions, which frequently means reaching an effective dose sooner and staying there.

Engaging seriously with nutrition and resistance training improves your result at the same dose, which is effectively free.

Planning discontinuation properly protects the money already spent. Regaining the weight is the most expensive outcome available.

What we quote and how

At consultation you receive the expected monthly cost at the dose you are likely to need, what is included, and what happens if you need to change treatment or route.

You should never have to commit before knowing this, and you should not be asked to buy a long prepaid package before assessment has confirmed treatment is even appropriate.

If a different route suits you better on cost or clinical grounds, we will say so — including telling you that no treatment is appropriate yet, if that is the honest answer.

Consultations are available in clinic in Lajpat Nagar or by video for patients elsewhere in NCR and beyond.

Questions to ask before you pay anything

What dose do you expect I will need, and what will that cost per month at that strength? What is the likely annual figure?

What is included beyond the medicine — consultations, blood work, dietitian, injection training, side-effect support? What is billed separately?

What happens if I do not tolerate it? Will you hold or reduce the dose, or consider switching? Is any part of what I have paid refundable?

Who do I contact outside clinic hours if something concerns me? What is the plan for stopping, and when will we discuss it?

About the clinic

Hindivine Healthcare is at D-1/97, Basement, Lajpat Nagar 1, New Delhi 110024, open Monday to Saturday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

Treatment is led by Dr. Rajat Goel, a Gold Medalist surgeon with over 25 years in practice, more than 2000 bariatric procedures, 17000 laparoscopic surgeries, over 500 Allurion balloon patients and more than 1300 patients supervised on GLP-1 programmes.

We offer four treatment routes — injectable programmes, the Allurion balloon, bariatric surgery and dietitian-led management — which is what allows an honest cost comparison rather than a single recommendation.

First consultations are available in clinic or by video, and blood work can be arranged locally for patients outside Delhi.

What patients typically spend over a year

Rather than a single figure, it helps to understand the shape of annual spending. The first quarter is dominated by assessment costs and low-dose medicine, so it sits below what people expect.

The second quarter is usually the steepest climb, as escalation continues and follow-up blood work falls due. Patients who have budgeted a flat monthly amount feel the pressure here.

The third and fourth quarters typically settle at your effective dose, with review consultations spacing out as treatment stabilises. This becomes your predictable ongoing figure.

Mapping this out before starting is worth an hour of your time. Patients who understand the shape of the spending stay on treatment considerably more often than those who discover it month by month.

Paying for a programme versus paying per visit

Clinics structure charges differently. Some quote an inclusive programme fee covering consultations, reviews, dietitian access and support for a defined period, with the medicine billed separately.

Others charge per consultation, per review and per dietitian session, with each appointment generating a bill. This can appear cheaper initially and cost more across a year.

Neither model is inherently better, but they are difficult to compare unless you convert both to an annual figure. Ask how many reviews are expected in the first year and what each costs.

Be particularly careful with prepaid packages sold before assessment. If treatment turns out to be inappropriate for you, or you cannot tolerate it, recovering that money is often difficult.

What happens to cost if you switch or stop

Switching between molecules is a recognised clinical option where tolerance or response is poor. It usually means restarting titration at a low dose, which temporarily reduces medicine cost while you climb again.

Stopping and later restarting has a similar effect. You generally cannot resume at your previous dose after a long gap, so part of the escalation is repeated.

Neither of these is wasted money, but they are worth anticipating rather than encountering unexpectedly.

If cost becomes genuinely unsustainable partway through, raise it with your doctor rather than stopping abruptly. A planned taper protects the result you have already paid for; an abrupt stop frequently does not.

Frequently asked questions

How much do weight loss injections cost in Delhi?
It depends on the dose you reach, since these medicines are priced by strength. Your consultation should give the expected monthly figure at your likely dose, plus the annual picture.
Why can't I get a price over the phone?
Because the dose you need is only known after assessment and gradual titration. A single figure quoted beforehand is usually the starting dose only.
Is Mounjaro more expensive than Ozempic in Delhi?
Tirzepatide at higher doses is generally the most expensive option. Costs scale with strength across all products.
What should be included in the price?
Consultations and reviews, baseline and follow-up blood work, injection training, dietitian access, side-effect management and discontinuation guidance.
Are cheaper compounded versions worth it?
No. Dosing cannot be verified, sterility is uncertain and there is no adverse event reporting. We do not prescribe or endorse them.
Is the balloon or surgery cheaper overall?
Both are one-off costs versus a recurring monthly expense. Over two or three years the arithmetic often favours a procedure, depending on your BMI and health.
Does insurance cover weight loss injections in India?
Generally not. Bariatric surgery is covered under some policies where clinical criteria are met. Check your policy wording.
Do prices differ in Gurgaon or Noida?
The medicine costs the same. Consultation fees and bundling differ. Compare the inclusive annual figure rather than the location.
